And we continue our strike, 5 now, of commenting the Red Carpet of the Oscars. Which this year was literally a red carpet. Unfornately, I wasn't able to be super attentive to all the looks, since the Oscars decided to go up live earlier this year. Even earlier for me here in Portugal, and I was working. 

But now, that I had the opportunity to do a round-up of all the designer clothes used on the carpet, I have a general opinion: a lot of black, maybe too much for my liking. Even the Barbie actors were in black, which is just not fun. Plus, weird trend for Emily Blunt using a dress that the straps don't lay on the shoulders.

E continuamos a nossa pontuação, 5 agora, de comentar o tapete vermelho dos Óscares. Que neste ano foi literalmente uma passadeira vermelha. Infelizmente, não consegui estar super atenta a todos os visuais, uma vez que começou mais cedo este ano. E ainda mais em Portugal, para além de que estava a trabalhar.

Mas agora, depois de ter a oportunidade de analisar muitas das roupas de designers usadas na passadeira, já tenho uma opinião geral: muito preto, demasiado para o meu gosto. Até mesmo os atores de Barbie foram de preto, o que não é divertido. Para mais que havia uma moda estranha com a Emily Blunt, em que as alças do vestido não assentavam nos ombros.

* Jennifer Laurence in Dior Haute Couture

It's amazing to see her evolution year after year in terms of fashion. I decided to put her in my list because she was the only one that had a more classic and normal pattern. But as usual Dior can make it so chic. It takes a modern twist to a 80s fashion iconic.

É maravilhoso ver a evolução dela ano após ano em termos de moda. Eu decidi pô-la na minha lista, porque ela foi a única que usou um vestido mais clássico e com um padrão normal. Mas, como usualmente, a Dior torna na mesma chique. É uma versão moderna de um look dos anos 80.

* America Ferrera in Atelier Versace

It's so simple, but at least someone from Barbie entered the pink vibe. Beside that, it's definitely something different from the rest and actually the more I look the more I like it. It doesn't have nothing that sets it apart, but the metal texture and refletions are so original.

É tão simples, mas pelo menos alguém de Barbie foi de rosa. À parte disso, é definitivamente diferente dos restantes e quanto mais olho mais gosto. Não tem nada de extraordinário, mas a textura metálica e os reflexos são muito originais.

* Becky G in Vera Wang

A very traditional latina dress, no doubt in that. Vera Wang always does an amazing job in these more tight, satin and water illusion dresses. And the bigger thing is that it suits her so well. Even though it's black, the rhinestones in the bust are beautiful.

Um vestido muito tradicionalmente latino. A Vera Wang faz sempre um trabalho fantástico neste vestidos apertados e com um ilusão de água. E a cena maior é que lhe fica tão bem. Mesmo sendo simplesmente preto com uns cristais no busto - é lindo.

* Carey Mulligan in Balenciaga

I decided to include her dress in my iconic looks, because it has been awhile since I saw a very classy chic traditional dress. The way that it combines black and white and has the mermaid plus the bottom tule, like a wedding dress, makes me go back in time to old school award ceremonies.

Decidi incluir o vestido dela nos mus looks icónicos, uma vez já não vi há algum tempo vestido tão tradicional e chique. A maneira como combina o preto e branco o vestido em sereia, com a fundo em tule, como um vestido de noiva, faz-me ir atrás no tempo para as cerimónias de prémios muito antigas.

* Florence Pugh in Del Core

In a weird, but definitely original way, I absolutely like it. I think it's stunning (obviously the model helps), unlike others, and the way it's molded in the way the accentuate perfectly the feminine body it's just incredible. The textures, the material choosen, the different vibes - so futuristic.

De uma maneira estranha, mas definitivamente original, é absolutamente lindo. Acho-o maravilhoso (claramente a modelo ajuda), desigual e maneira como molda o corpo de forma a acentuar o corpo feminino é mesmo incrível. As texturas, o tecido escolhido, o vibes diferentes - bastante futurístico. 

* Hailee Steinfeld in Elie Saab

I'm so impressed how, every year, she rocks her look. I do also have to give credits to Elie Saab, since, also every year, I nominate it as one of the best dresses. The teal colour combine with the metallic gold is so heavenly beautiful. I also like the material and the long neck scarf.

Estou muito impressionada como, todos os anos, ela tem um outfit arrasador. Tenho também dar o mérito a Elie Saab, uma vez que, também todos os anos, entra na minha lista de melhores vestidos. A cor turquesa combinada com o dourado metálico é celestial. Também adoro o material e o lenço comprido a cair pelas costas.

* Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton

The most basic dress out of the others, and maybe my least favourite. However, there is something about it that I just find very oscars material for the 2024 ceremony. Plus, it just goes along so much with the movie she was in. I believe in another time it wouldn't, but in this awards it just worked out.

O vestido mais básico comparado com todos os outros, e talvez o que menos gosto. Todavia, existe alguma coisa nele que me faz pensar "ideal para os óscares 2024". E, dizer também, que é uma associação ao filme brilhante. Acredito que noutra altura não funcionaria, mas nesta cerimónia funcionou.

* Lily Gladstone in Gucci x Joe Big Mountain of Iron House Quillwork 

I'll be honest, the dress itself is nothing super special, it's a minimalistic Gucci dress. What wins here for the iconic look it's obviously the train. Again, what is unique in most of the outfits is that it pairs perfectly with the movies that they represent. The combination of velvet and the black and dark blue suits her so much.

Vou ser honesta, o vestido propriamente dito não é nada de especial, é o clássico Gucci minimalista. O que ganha aqui como visual icónico é a capa. Outra vez, a singularidade de quase todos os visuais provem de como combinam perfeitamente com o filme que representam. A combinação do veludo com o preto com o azul escuro, fica-lhe muito bem.
