Lately, and I would say since 3 years ago, I started going to a lot of brunch places. Not only do I like the concept of it, but I also really enjoy breakfast foods. Add to that the amazing ambience that these cafes have, it's the perfect place to a relaxing hangout with friends.

I've been to quite a lot, however it's nowhere near the amount that Lisbon have throught the city. So, if you do have a recommendation different from the ones I mention here, please let me know - leave it in the comments.

Ultimamente, e diria de há três anos para cá, comecei a ir a muitos mais brunches. Não só eu gosto do conceito, com também delicio-me com as comidas do pequeno-almoço. Adiciona a isso o ambiente incrível que estes cafés têm, é o lugar perfeito para um encontro descontraído com amigos.

Eu já fui a bastantes, contudo o número não é sequer perto da quantidade existente aqui em Lisboa. Por isso, se recomendam algum diferente dos mencionados aqui, por favor digam-me - deixem nos comentários.

SEAGULL METHOD CAFE 

I was very surprised by this place. I had no expectations on it, just curiosity because the food seemed really good. And, even though the spot is not the most decorated compared to the next ones, it's beautiful in a simple way. The best thing about it it's that is not as mainstream so tables are always available.

The Seagull Method Cafe is located on Príncipe Real, on a not very busy street. As I said before the atmosphere is very nice and simple and about the menu is a well-rounded one with lunch and breakfast items, however there is no brunch menus. The prices are bit high, but not that much.

 Fiquei muito surpreendida com este lugar. Não tinha expectativas, apenas curiosidade em relação à comida porque parecia muito boa. E, mesmo o sítio não seja o mais decorado em comparação com os restantes, é muito bonito na sua maneira mais simples. A melhor coisa é que não é assim tão conhecido por há sempre mesas desocupadas.

O Seagull Method Cafe está localizado no Príncipe Real, numa rua não muito movimentada. Como disse, a atmosfera é muito boa e tranquila. O menu tem um pouco de tudo com opções mais viradas para almoço e outras para pequeno-almoço, porém não têm menus brunch. Os preços são um pouco elevados, mas não muito.

NICOLAU LISBOA 

If you want a basic, risk-free brunch place, this is the one. I've gone to it several times because it's simple but effective. The downside about this place, since it's one of the most famous ones, it's always full and usually with queues. However, if you have the time, it's totally worth it the little wait, since it's beautiful inside and really good for photos, even the outside area.

Nicolau is a big franchise, but the one I'm talking is located in downtown Lisbon, in Chiado. The food is your typical "avocado toast and pancakes", nevertheless is super tasty. The prices are similar to the others, but a bit less expensive, specially because they have the brunch menus.

Se querem um brunch básico e sem riscos, este é o lugar. Já fui a este algumas vezes porque é simples e eficaz. A parte pior é que, por ser um dos mais famosos, tem sempre as mesas cheias e filas. Todavia, se tiverem tempo, vale a pena esperarem um pouco. O interior é muito giro, muito bom para tirar fotos, até mesmo o exterior.

Nicolau tem vários cafés pelas cidades portuguesas, mas o que estou a falar está localizado na baixa de Lisboa, no Chiado. A comida é a vossa típica "tosta de abacate e panquecas", mas mesmo assim delicioso. Os preços são semelhantes aos outros, embora um pouco menos, especialmente se optarem pelos combinados.

GARDEN BALTHAZAR CAFFE

By the photos you will see that the inside of the caffe is stunning, but seeing it in real life it's even more eye-catching. I went during the holidays season and everything was decorated in the Christmas theme and it was beautiful. Since it's a bigger place than the rest of the others, there's no worrying about being full and having to wait.

The Garden Balthazar is situated on Avenidas Novas, really close to the Picoas metro station. In terms of food is similar to Nicolau, with some themed ideas of their own, but similar. I do believe however the proportions are bigger, even though the prices are about the same as the others.

Pelas fotos irão ver que o interior do café é simplesmente magnífico, mas ver na vida real é ainda melhor. Eu fui durante as festividades e estava tudo decorado no tema do Natal e estava mesmo muito mágico. Uma vez que o espaço é bastante amplo, comparado com os outros, não se precisam de preocupar com o facto se está muito cheio ou não.

O Garden Balthazar está situado nas Avenidas Novas, muito perto da estação de metro Picoas. Em termos de comida é semelhante ao Nicolau, com algumas ideias próprias deles, mas similar. Eu acredito, contudo, que as proporções são maiores, mesmo os preços dos pratos serem praticamente iguais.

SEVENTH BRUNCH

Of all the places that I talked to you about, this one is probably the most elegant one. Nothing really stands out about it, however everyone that went there talked good things about it. And in reality I indeed had a good brunch. What makes it win is the variety of menu brunches that it has. And with that different flavourful plates.

The Seventh I went to was the one located in Avenida da Liberdade. It's a small place, with neon lights and pub music. Depending if you choose menu or not (remember the quality it's going to be lower on the menus), the price goes with it, but overall is reasonable.

De todos os locais de que vos falei, este é provavelmente o mais elegante. Nada se destaca, porém toda a gente que lá vai diz sempre muitas coisas sobre ele. E na realidade é mesmo um bom brunch. Onde ele ganha pontos é no facto de ter uma grande diversidade de menus de brunch. E com isso pratos com diversos sabores.

O Seventh que eu fui fica na Avenida da Liberdade. É um espaço pequeno, com luzes neon e música de pub. Dependendo do menu que escolherem ou não (lembrem-se que a qualidade vai ser inferior nos menus), o preço é proporcional, mas de uma forma em geral é muito razoável.

ZENITH BRUNCH & COCKTAILS

Lastly, but definitely not least, one that was super recommended to me, and now I get it why. It's important to say that the place does not feel like your typical brunch cafe. It's a lot more edgier and with a pub feel. Even though the place is big, unless you arrive kinda early, prepare yourself to wait. I personally liked it, because it's good to, from time to time, change from the cutesy scenery.

At Zenith, also located at Avenida da Liberdade, you will see that it's more than brunch food, it also can mixes with snack, light lunch food. Plus, you can go for more of a "tapas" kind of thing, since they also known for the cocktails. The prices are probably the highest of them all, but the food is also very distinctive from the others. Since they also did it to me, I have to recomend the Zenith Toast.

Por último, mas definitivamente não menos importante, um que me foi super recomendado e agora eu percebo porquê. É importante realçar que o espaço não vos faz lembrar o típico espaço de brunch. É muito mais arrojado e tem uma atmosfera mais de bar. Embora seja um lugar grande, a não ser que cheguem um bocado cedo, preparem-se para ter de esperar. Eu pessoalmente gostei, porque de vez em quando é bom mudar de cenários fofos.

No Zenith, também localizado na Avenida da Liberdade, vão reparar que é mais do que comida de brunch, pode também fazer de lanche, e comida leve de almoço. Ainda mais, podem ir numa de "tapas" sendo que eles também são conhecidos pelos cocktails. Os preços são relativamente mais altos, mas a comida é muito distinta dos outros. Sendo que também o fizeram comigo, tenho de recomendar vivamente a Zenith Toast.
