I don't know if I said it, but I'm trying to do a vlog every month (I probably did say it), and honestly, this month I've been so extremely busy that I couldn't do anything fun to actually show you, so the best I could do is actually show you reality - a study sunday.

It's also not your typical vlog, is a bit more fast paced and in vertical format. I don't know if you like it, but I thought about trying something different. And obviously, it's not only me studying, do not worry. Just watch it and let me know what you think.

Eu não sei se eu já disse isto, mas estou a tentar fazer um vlog por mês (provavelmente eu já tinha dito), e honestamente, este mês eu estive tão ocupada que não consegui fazer nada de divertido para vos mostrar, então o melhor que eu poderia fazer é sinceramente mostrar-vos a realidade - um domingo de estudos.

Também não é o vlog típico, é um pouco mais rápido e em formato vertical. Não sei se vão gostar, mas pensei em tentar algo diferente. E obviamente, não é apenas eu a estudar, não se preocupem. Vejam e digam-me o que acharam.

 I was very torn between two ideas for this month yearly outfit. Because from my research, from the 50s onward is when the fashion starts changing more and women also start wearing pants. Not a lot, but you start seeing it. However, I decided to go for skirt, because it was overall statement. So for the 1950s the women fashion was marked by a fitted blouse with a Peter Pan collar tucked into a wide cinch belt with a round circle skirt or a pencil skirt. Teenage girls sometimes finished the look with scarves knotted around the neck, white bobby socks, and saddle shoes.

Eu estava muito dividida entre duas ideias para o outfit anual deste mês. Porque pela minha pesquisa, a partir dos anos 50, a moda começou a mudar mais e as mulheres também começaram a usar calças. Não muito, mas começa-se a ver. No entanto, decidi ir pela saia, porque era o que mais aparecia. Assim, para a década de 50, a moda feminina foi marcada pela blusa justa com gola Peter Pan, o cinto largo e a saia rodada ou lápis. As adolescentes às vezes terminavam o visual com lenços ao pescoço, meias brancas e sapatos de sela.

This is probably the one that I liked the most and it was also the one that I made more modern, specially in terms of the skirt - I felt that it had the same vibe, but it's definitely a more modern cut. Then the shirt and the shoes are someting that I still use and sometimes, honestly pair like this, specially the shoes with those type of socks. But what really makes it a 50s outfit is the belt, that really ties everything together for a vintage look.

Este é provavelmente o que eu mais gostei e também foi o que tornei mais moderno, principalmente em relação à saia - senti que tinha o mesmo vibe, mas com certeza é um corte mais moderno. Em relação à camisa e aos sapatos são as coisas que ainda uso e às vezes, honestamente, combino assim, principalmente os sapatos com esse tipo de meias. Mas o que realmente torna um look dos anos 50 é o cinto, ele de facto une tudo para um visual vintage.

 I'm gonna be honest, I was going to film - vlog it - but I just didn't feel like it. Specially because I was a bit stressed that I had some university stuff to do and I wanted to enjoy this small break with my dad. However, now I'm a bit sad because I want to have visual memories. Therefore, I felt like my best option right now was to write about it, summarized, and show you some photos that we took (me, my sister and my dad).

We went to Aveiro friday afternoon, and from Lisbon to Aveiro it takes around two and half hours with breaks to stretch our legs. Being totally honest, I took that time to do some work that I had.

When we arrive was already late, around seven and a half at night. My grandmother went with us because we have family in Aveiro (her sister), so we just went straight to meet them and have dinner. Then we went to our hotel (my grandmother stayed with her sister). It was very cozy, more modern than I thought. We went straight to bed - I was so tired from the trip and the school day.

Vou ser honesta, eu ia filmar - um vlog - mas eu não tive muita vontade. Especialmente porque eu estava um pouco estressada por ter algumas coisas da universidade para fazer e porque também queria aproveitar esta pequena pausa com meu pai. No entanto, agora estou um pouco triste porque queria ter memórias visuais. Por isso, senti que a minha melhor opção agora era escrever sobre a viagem, resumir e mostrar algumas fotos que tiramos (eu, a minha irmã e o meu pai).

Fomos para Aveiro sexta-feira à tarde, e de Lisboa a Aveiro demoramos cerca de duas horas e meia com pausas para esticar as pernas. Sendo totalmente honesta, aproveitei esse tempo para fazer alguns trabalhos que tinha.

Quando chegamos já era tarde, por volta das sete e meia da noite. A minha avó foi connosco porque temos família em Aveiro (a irmã dela), por isso fomos logo ao encontro deles e jantamos lá. Depois fomos para o nosso hotel (a minha avó ficou com a irmã). Era muito aconchegante, mais moderno do que eu pensava. Fomos diretos para a cama - eu estava tão cansada da viagem e do dia de aulas.

Next morning, saturday, we decided that we didn't need to wake up super early (even though I did to finish up some university work), so we went to get breakfast at around nine o'clock - basic breakfast, but still delicious because it's hotel breakfast and it always tastes different. And then we thought it would be a good idea to get familiar with the area since we were going to run the next day. Oh, and also get my athlete kit.

After that we just took a stroll around the city, met some family members, had lunch with them - the restaurant owner had an amazing life story, my journalism side was tingling - and also at the end of the day, we had dinner with a group of friends of my father that were going to run as well. Before that, in the afternoon, we drove to Costa Nova, a really beautiful colorful beachy area, to take some photos, try on my new sneakers and for my dad to go for a run too.

Na manhã seguinte, sábado, decidimos que não precisávamos de acordar super cedo (mesmo que eu o tenha feito para terminar alguns trabalhos da universidade), então fomos tomar o pequeno-almoço por volta das nove horas - pequeno-almoço básico, mas ainda assim delicioso porque é pequeno-almoço de hotel e tem sempre um gosto diferente. E então pensamos que seria uma boa ideia familiarizarmo-nos com a área, já que iríamos correr no dia seguinte. Ah, e também fui buscar o meu kit de atleta.

Depois demos apenas um passeio pela cidade, encontramo-nos com alguns familiares, almoçamos com eles - o dono do restaurante tinha uma história de vida incrível, o meu lado jornalístico estava a dar sinal - e também no final do dia jantamos com um grupo de amigos do meu pai que ia correr também. Antes disso, à tarde, fomos de carro até a Costa Nova, uma área de praia muito bonita e colorida, para tirar algumas fotos, experimentar os meus ténis novos e para o meu pai correr.

And then sunday rose. I literally woke up at six and half in the morning, had the fastest breakfast ever, because the runs were at eight thirty o'clock (I went on the mini marathon). I was pretty excited, not gonna lie, nervous too, specially because of my knee that was hurting a bit, but during the run itself it didn't bother me at all.

The run, even though it didn't have difficult climbs, it was difficult, because I was going so much faster than my usual. My previous record was 10km in 54:41, this time I did the same, 10 km, but in 49:37, that is so amazing! My legs were pretty tired, ahah. 

After the run, with my sister, that was waiting for me, we went to the hotel and I just got a shower, tidy up the hotel room, and both of us went to watch my dad finish the marathon, the 42km. After that, my dad also got a shower, we checked out of the hotel and had lunch with the family. And went back to Lisbon (for some more uni work).

E então domingo nasceu. Acordei literalmente às seis e meia da manhã, tomei o pequeno-almoço mais rápido da minha vida, porque as corridas começavam às oito e meia (eu fui à mini maratona). Eu estava bem animada, não vou mentir, nervosa também, principalmente por causa do meu joelho que me estava a doer um bocado, mas durante a corrida em si não me incomodou nada.

A corrida, apesar de não ter subidas difíceis, foi difícil, porque eu corri muito mais rápido que o meu normal. O meu recorde anterior, em 10km, era de 54:41, desta vez fiz o mesmo, 10 km, mas em 49:37, incrível! As minhas pernas ficaram bem cansadas e doridas, ahah.

No final da corrida, juntamente com a minha irmã, que estava lá à espera, voltamos para o hotel e eu apenas tomei banho, arrumei o quarto do hotel e voltamos para a meta para ver o meu pai a terminar a maratona, os 42km. Depois disso, o meu pai também tomou banho, saímos do hotel e almoçámos com a família. E voltei para Lisboa (para mais alguns trabalhos universitários).
