And we are finally at this time of the year, when we celebrate the Oscars. By not only watching the ceremony and getting nervous to know the winners, but also to appreciate and give recognition to the best looks on the red carpet. It's crazy that it is my fourth consecutive year doing this.

If you read last years post, you know that I write this while the Oscars are live so if you see any mistake I'm sorry.

Talking now about the red carpert itself: I am disappointed. Nothing really amazed me, every look felt very safe and no one had the wow factor. Nevertheless, I was able to choose some. Spoiler, none are black, which was clearly a trend on the champagne carpet.

E aqui estamos finalmente neste altura do mês, quando celebramos os Óscares. Não apenas por assistindo a cerimónia e ficar nervosos com os nomeados, mas também para apreciar e dar reconhecimento aos melhores visuais da passadeira vermelha. É espantoso pensar que é o meu quarto ano consecutivo a fazer isto.

Se leram os posts dos anos anteriores sabem que escrevo isto enquanto vejo os óscares em direto, por isso se tiver erros peço desculpa.

Falando agora da passadeira em si: estou desapontada. Nada me espantou, senti que todos os looks jogaram pelo seguro e ninguém tinha o fator wow. Contudo, escolhi alguns. Spoiler, nenhum é preto, o que foi claramente uma moda na passadeira champagne.

# Hong Chau in Prada

It wasn't the biggest, nor the prettiest to speak honestly. But there was something that just worked with the simplicity of the pink chinese inspired dress and the black feathery tail. Plus, it worked wonders in her.

Não foi o maior, nem o mais bonito para falar a sério. Mas há alguma coisa que apenas funcionou entre a simplicidade do vestido rosa inspirado chinês e a cauda de penas preta. Para mais que funcionou ainda melhor nela.

# Angela Basset

She always rocks. I don't believe it's her best dress, but again her figure in the dress just elevates everything. I also believe that purple complements her skin tone so much. And she stood out because of the colour choice.

Ela arrasa sempre. Não acho que seja o seu melhor vestido, mas outra vez a figura dela no vestido eleva tudo. Acredito também que o roxo complementa o seu tom de pele. E ela também brilhou por causa da escolha da cor.

# Cara Delevingne in Elie Saab

I believe I like every year's dress of hers. Not only she looks stunning in anything, but also because her dresses are usually unique and casual approaches to elegancy. Personally, I love to see red and it gains even more points when it has pockets.

Todos os anos eu gosto do vestido dela. Não só ela fica bem em qualquer coisa, mas porque os vestidos são usualmente são uma abordagem única e casual de elegância. Pessoalmente, adoro ver vermelho e ganha ainda mais pontos por ter bolsos.

# Paul Mescal in Gucci

I must say that this was the one that surprised me. I was not thinking, at all, that he would go for something a bit out of the ordinary. But what really won my heart, was the pants. They are flared. And incredibly I feel like it works.

Tenho a dizer que este sim surpreendeu-me. Não estava nada a pensar que ele escolheria isto. Mas o que realmente ganhou o meu coração foi as calças. São à boca de sino. E incrivelmente, para mim, sinto que funciona bastante bem.

# Janelle Monae in Vera Wang 

The show of the the skin was a trend this oscars red carpet. However, if someone does it well it is Janelle Monae. This connected two piece, with different colours, both that goes really well in her, is beautiful. Love the corpet crop top with the draped skirt.

A pele à mostra foi sem dúvida a moda da passadeira vermelha dos óscares. Porém, se alguém o faz bem é a Janelle Monae. Este two piece ligado, com diferentes cores, ambos que lhe caem muito bem, é lindo. Adoro o corpete curto com a saia drapeada.

# Barry Keoghan

I like to give recognition to the men that put some work into their outfits. And Keoghan was one of them. To be honest, it's not stunning or anything out of the ordinary. But the fact that it has that baby blue colour and those buttons it's already something else, so stunning.

Eu gosto de dar reconhecimento aos homens que põe algum trabalhos nos seus outfits. E o Keoghan foi um deles. Honestamente, não é nada muito fora do normal. Mas o facto de ser de cor azul bebé e com aqueles botões torna já em alguma coisa, esplêndido.

Yes, I said I had no order, but this one was by far my favourite. That duo colour blocked racy gown was just gorgeous. The grey blue with the grape burgundy is a combination I never thought would worked so beautifully.
