For the past few months, something I have been struggling with is dandruff and flaky scalf. Which is really odd for me since I don't have oily nor super dry hair. And on top of that I have curly hair, which makes it difficult to just use whatever products.

I'm super careful with the products I use on my hair, since I do follow the curly hair method. So no sulfates, parabens and silicones. There is not a lot out there, believe me. And it becomes even more difficult to find anti-dandruff products since most of them use sulfates to really cleanse the scalp.

And here it enters the new hair routine I've been trying. After long hours researching about ingredients and brands and the products themselves, I found some that I think they might work. Note that I'm still experimenting with them so I don't know for certain if they work.

Nos últimos meses, algum que tenho vindo a lutar contra é caspa e couro cabeludo escamoso. O que é estranho para mim, visto que não tenho cabelo oleoso nem muito seco. E, para tornar tudo mais difícil tenho cabelo encaracolado, o que faz com que não queira utilizar qualquer produto.

Sou muito cuidadosa com os ingredientes que uso no meu cabelo, uma vez que sigo o método curly. Por isso, nada de sulfatos, parabenos e silicones. Não há muito sem isso por ai. E fica ainda mais complicado quando quero que sejam anticaspa, sendo que todos utilizam, pelo menos, sulfatos.

E aqui entra a minha nova rotina de cabelo, que ando a experimentar. Depois de longas horas a pesquisar sobre ingredientes e marcas e mesmo os produtos, encontrei alguns que podem funcionar. Notem que ainda estou a testá-los, por isso não tenho a certeza que funcionam.

Before we get into the products and the routine, you have to know that my hair is naturally curly, not oily nor dry (but is more to the dry side), it's dense and has a bit of volume. Also, as I mention before that I follow the curly girl method, I as well try to use only cruelty-free brands.

Now for the routine and products.

Because of the dandruff and flaky scalp I am trying now the INKEY List Salicylic Acid Exfoliant Scalp Treatment. I bought it at Lookfantastic, but you can also find at Sephora. According to the internet, the salicylic acid will remove the build-up and also help to balance oil levels' production.

I apply the treatment as a pre-shampoo, meaning before showering. I put on a dry scalp and wait for 10 minutes. I only use twice a week.

Antes de falar sobre os produtos e a rotina, é preciso dizer que o meu cabelo é naturalmente encaracolado, não oleoso nem seco (contudo mais para o seco), é denso e tem um pouco de volume. Mencionar que para além de seguir o método curly também dou prioridade a marcas livres de crueldade.

Agora a rotina e os produtos.

Por causa da caspa, estou a utilizar o Tratamento Exfoliante para o Couro Cabeludo com Ácido Salicílico da INKEY List. Podem encontrar na Lookfantastic e na Sephora. De acordo com a internet, o ácido salicílico irá remover o acumulado e ajudar a equilibrar os níveis de óleo. 

Uso como um pre-champô, antes de tomar banho. Aplico em couro cabeludo seco e deixo atoar por 10 minutos. Apenas utilizo duas vezes por semana.

In the shower, I wash my hair with the Deliplus Curl Perfect Shampoo, the curly girl method line from Mercadona. A shampoo without sulfates, riched with coconut oil to hydrate the hair and help with the curl and the frizz.

Continuing in the shower, I seal everything with the Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex 10 in 1 Renewal System Conditioner. A formula rich in antioxidants that provides several benefits to dull locks. With marula oil and biotin, the conditioner works to increase the hair's elasticity and strength, leaving the hair nourished, smooth, shiny and full of movement.

No banho, lavo o cabelo com o champô Curl Perfect da marca Deliplus, a linha do Mercadona que segue o método curly. Um champô sem sulfatos, rico em óleo de côco para hidratar o cabelo e ajudar com os caracóis e o frizz.

De seguida, finalizo tudo com o condicionador Superfuit Complex 10 in 1 Renewal System da Shea Moisture. Uma fórmula cheia de antioxidantes que fornece benefícios para cabelo sem brilho. Tem também óleo de marula e biotina, que irá dar mais elasticidade ao cabelo e irá fortalecê-lo. Deixando assim o cabelo nutrido, suave, brilhante e cheio de movimento.

After the shower, I only use one more product. The Activator Gel from the Curl Perfect line from Mercadona - Deliplus. Its formula enriched with coconut oil, aloe vera, vegetable proteins and linseed extract provides hydration and flexible fixation to the hair.

I let it air dry, so no heat will frizz or destroy the normal shape the curls. And after it is dry I just scrunch up the dried gel.

Depois do banho, apenas utilizo um produto. O Gel Ativador da linha Curl Perfect do Mercadona - Deliplus. A sua formula enriquecida em óleo de côco, aloé vera, proteínas vegetais e extrato de linhaça, proporciona hidratação e uma fixação flexível.

Deixo o cabelo secar ao ar livre, sendo que o calor iria deixar o cabelo com frizz e estragar o encaracolado natural. Quando seco, amasso um pouco o cabelo de cabeça para baixo para tirar o excesso de gel seco.
